This article talks about how once 5 years ago tsunami waves crashed into Fukushima Daiichi power plant and caused a nuclear meltdown. There was radiation chemicals 12 miles around the land it was considered the dangerous zone. The radiation caused a boom in boars where the population went from 3,000 to 13,000. Population rising for the boars meant only trouble for the area. The  boars have caused 15 million dollar damage to the local agriculture and they keep on damaging the place. The radiation does not affect the boars and has shown no significant harm to them. Many hunters have been offered to kill these boars but it's not enough. The city of Nihonmatsu has dug three massive graves that can hold up to 1,800 dead boars but still that is not enough to stop the boom of boars.

The reason why I chose this article was because I wanted to learn more about natural disasters and how they are caused. Even animals like the boars can cause a natural disaster to the world. If the boars aren't stopped then they will just keep on increasing and so will the damage. Maybe they can figure out a poison that will only affect the life of boars and with one sniff of that poison all the boars can die. They better do something quick otherwise it will only get worse.

This article is important to environmental science because if the boars keep increasing then they will soon start attacking humans. It will only create more chaos and destruction on many different ecosystems and habitats. If the population increases then it will affect hunting, farming, forestry, and many other different things. That boars have already caused 15 million dollars of damage to local agriculture and if we don't put a stop to this the money will only increase.
